Web/Print Design

I'm so excited I've just began taking two more classes towards a print and web design cert. I've previously taken an Adobe Creative Suite Overview course and a Photoshop Course. Now I'm taking an Adobe Illustrator Course and Web Design I.

Both instructors seem to know what they're doing and have the ability to show me those things I'm typically pulling my hair out trying to figure out on my own:) Concerning both print and web work. I'll be sure to post some of my projects here as I do them this semester.

My hope is to utilize this free training within my church as well as any projects that may come my way that align with God's word. That is not the design itself but that which would be represented.

Fireproof

fireproofbanner

Fireproof is coming out on Friday and I can't wait to see this movie. To my surprise a commercial came on for this last night, not sure what channel I was watching but it was nice to see as I didn't expect to see any for this.

I'm not married yet I enjoy learning as much as I can about marriage and would like to some day marry. Also it's good when talking to fellow believers or anyone really who are married or considering. Being equip to speak on the topic isn't limited to those who've already said I do so things like this teaches me as I wait:) And I say this assuming it's going to direct us towards biblical marriage judging both by the trailer and Kirk Cameron being in the film.

Here is a clip for you to judge for yourselves:)

Radical Womanhood

Aside from the ESV Study Bible I'd recently ordered and waiting on it's arrival, I don't know that there is another book that I've waiting in such anticipation for it's release.

I'm sure part of that has to do with being a follower of Carolyn McCulley's blog and reading how the book is coming together. Another part of it is as one who desires to live a life of Biblical womanhood. Yet realizes the need to be deprogrammed or even to die daily to worldly womanhood. This is a valuable tool for continued growth in this area.

Even among fellow believers or at least those who claim to be, you can find a battle in desiring to live biblically. I recently made a statement to a friend about seeing Da Truth minister a a teen sexual purity conference and how his wife was looking on at her covering as if it were her 1st time hearing him teach. And sharing how beautiful that is and a blessing to see her being taught by her covering and her response to it. And how more importantly it was the word that brought fourth the reaction over the covering himself. The response got into how men need to notice their women teaching them as well and so fourth. We've discussed the topic before so just gave some friendly reminders of husband being head and that doesn't translate into women being doormat etc. Yet it dawned how much is lacking when we don't see things God's way. Women's role is often belittled not biblically, but by those who see a problem with it on the basis of wrong judgement, feminism and the flesh simply wanting to have it's own way. Yet true peace and joy is found in God ultimately so to live out as He desires is what will ultimately bring satisfaction.

Here is a description of the book written on Amazon.com Biblical womanhood is not for the weak. In an age that seeks to obliterate God and His authority, modeling biblical womanhood involves spiritual warfare. Radical Womanhood seeks to equip new believers and long-time Christians alike, exposing the anti-God agenda of the three waves of feminism to date and presenting the pro-woman truth of the Scriptures. Illustrated with numerous personal testimonies, this book will dig deep into the Word and show how it can be lived out today. The foundation and core message of Radical Womanhood is consistent with the traditional complementarian teaching on biblical womanhood. However, the target audience, tone, and style are radically different. Most books on this subject take a heavily didactic tone that assumes an awareness of Christian lingo and a high degree of spiritual maturity. Radical Womanhood has the narrative approach appreciated by postmodern readers, but still incorporates solid, biblically-based teaching for personal application and growth.

Ahhh bring it I tell u bring it!:)

CCC Event

This past Saturday I attended the 2nd (and I believe annual but don't quote me) Concert Classroom Corner event hosted by Epiphany Fellowship. The above picture is actually an image from their event two years ago, I haven't loaded my pics on my computer yet for this years event.

At any rate I absolutely love to go to one of their outreaches because I find that Christ is represented and the people fed, both spiritually and physically. Although there were many fellow believers out there, nice to see familiar faces and some not so familiar ones but who's faith was apparent. There were an obvious mix of unbelievers in the crowds as well, able to chew on some free fish and water ice while also sitting under the word of God rather it was through the Christian rappers singer and poet presented. Or the word given by Duce as he told the crowed what we were really there for and for whom the hype was about which is Jesus the Christ. It's the kind of thing that if you are already out there in the trenches getting at the people than it's encouragement to keep that going. And if not, the drive needed to get it going and a reminder of the fact that it's God who draws them we just make ourselves available to be used by Him as He calls and equips us to get out there in the 1st place.

All of the artists ministered IMO but I was especially impressed by Lecrae. He has this get the crowd hypness about him so to speak:) While at the same time it being evident that it's not about getting the crowd hype off of him or his music. Having fun but Jesus being the center of what he does AND showing how it can be done in Him. Honestly can say that about all of the artist there actually that I'm familiar with at least that ministered yet and probably because that was my 1st time really seeing Lecrae rap live it was like wow this young man ain't playing LOL mos def about his Father's business.

Already counting down to next years event Lord willing I'll be there and get to witness as well as volunteer to be of assistance where needed.
